The back view shows how each wall sconce comes with a long extension cord.  If you already have the
wall space wired to accept electrical, it's very easy to have an electrician install an outlet on the wall, and
a "pigtail" cord on the wall sconce.  Voila!  No need for the cord to run down the wall.
